I HAVE LOST 300+ GB!!… I PHONED SKY TO ENQUIRE ABOUT MY DISAPPEARING DATA LAST WEEK  7/6/05 AND THE OPERATIVE WHO TOOK MY CALL WAS SHOCKED AND KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE EXPIRING DATA RULE. SO IF THEY DONT KNOW HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW!! It's wrong as was never agreed when contract started, but typical of sky that cannot honour any offers or deals. Hence why left TV and will be leaving phone as well. As deal offers nothing now for me .  I'm notaware of receiving anything regarding this.. it's very disappointing and rather underhand 👎

@Andy+Boocock  information regarding the changes were included in the April price increase notification but the policy only came into force on the 4th June

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Mmmm obviously not a clear notification.. and reading the many many comments/complaints  in various forums it has left a very bitter taste in many Sky mobile customers ... as I said underhand, and very disappointing.. even Skys own staff didn't know about it as proved by my phone call..???

Re: Piggybank data disappeared

I have lost over a 150 GB of piggybank data. No *obvious* warning. Galling to think that if I had rolled my full 200 GB every month, I would still have most of it.

Are there any other networks that do a rollover scheme? I dislike it when a company gets perfidious and would like to have some options 😉

Re: I’ve lost 437GB data from piggybank without being warned

I agree with you. I have just lost over 200GB, and as you say we have paid for that data. [Removed] Can they do that?

Hi @LARRYRANDELL  it used to be 3 years, now it expires after 12 months, sky sent out emails in April last year warning of the change.

No @SKY1992bf 2024 is correct.

@LARRYRANDELL

Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

I think that was the start of the 12 months @SKY1992bf  so from May 2024 to May 2025 was the initial 12 months, now data has started to expire.

Disappearing saved data

On the 4th of June this year 358Gb of my 0.54Tb of saved data disappeared, apparently expired. How can 60% of my saved data expire on the same day? Surely it is based on a rolling fixed period at every billing date. I would expect to gain some and lose sum every month but I should never lose more than my total monthly data plan for all devices. Can anyone explain how this can happen?

Re: Piggybank data disappeared

I suppose that people building up massive piggy banks is an indication of something; that we don't use the data either because we are on a tariff that supplies more than we need, or (as in my case) that the connectivity is not that good. So my sim was relegated to a secondary role, I downgraded my tariff, and lived off the fat of my piggy bank. I guess that's a use case that Sky wouldn't want to encourage or promote. I have 50 Gb left, which should be good for a few years provided I keep rolling it all rather than just the odd gig each month. 😊
