Large chunk of data lost from piggy bank

I have just noticed that nearly 300gb have been removed from my piggy bank at the beginning of this month.

@Wilmadog

That's very likely. After 04/06/25 any data older than 12 months is being removed as per the new Sky Mobile Piggybank T's and C's. Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

@tseward

From the 4th June 2025 any data that has been in your piggybak for 12 months or more has been removed. You were sent an email last April about this so your post has been moved to the ongoing topic on this issue.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Think how i feel, I just now noticed i lost 400gb yes you read that right 400gb of saved data, I had saved it without knowing but it allowed me to swap to a lower data tarif and just keep using my piggy bank, I expected it would last me years.

20 years loyalty with sky and this is what they do, i will most certainly be swapping providers now for both tv and mobile

It's unfortunate but as stated customers were notified of this in April 2024 in the letter / email outlining upcoming price increases.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Im sure they were notified in some small print hidden within some T&C's of an email that sky knew 90% of people would gloss over because it was full of jargon.

Not small print, not hidden in T&C's, no jargon.  Here's the paragraph from the mail: (Will show after moderation)

I received this mail in January 2024.  Although, I would agree it wasn't obvious unless you actually read the email (and I suspect many didn't).

Re: Piggy bank data missing

[Removed] However, I have to say that it doesn't matter if the information came directly from the CEO of Sky on a handwritten note. The reality is that they changed the terms and took away 400GB of data that I had accumulated. There's no way I could have used that data within the notification period. They make hundreds of millions of pounds each year from us, their loyal customers, yet they show little loyalty in return.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

£10bn revenue.

Those are opperating loss, now show me the wages of all the top line employees of sky, I bet the opperating loss is due to the greedy fat cats at the top taking a huge some of money, dont for one second think im going to feel sorry for sky, trust me an opperating loss doesnt mean jack, nice way to reduce corporation tax though.

if a company was in that much trouble would they really pay their CEO a reported some of £15million plus for one year.

do you think anyone should earn that sort of money??

@Karl67  @JimM1

I have moved your post from the broadband forum to this topic that is discussing this in the mobile forum.

This has happened because any data in your piggybank that has been in it for 12 months or more on 4th June 2025 has been removed as unused data stays in it for just 12 months now.  Apparently emails were sent out about this in April of last year.
