Hello... 👋🏻 iOS user here with the same problem, I'm on an eSIM, calls disconnecting mid call & almost always have to go to airplane mode after a phone call. Just noticed yesterday "mobile data is not available during this call" bit of a disaster service wise to be fair, expected much better

thanks to the good advice from this thread, I sent a mail to the complaints mailbox, explaining that I had tried all the guidance from Sky support to no avail, and as a result, wanted to exit the contract with no penalty.
I received a call a few days later, from their customer success team (or something to that effect, i.e. not technical support).
The lady on the phone was very nice and informed me that they would remove the early termination charge on my account.
My advice would be to jump through the hoops customer support tell you to (knowing that nothing they say will work) but send a mail to the complaints mailbox saying that you have tried, but since this isnt going to get resolved, you want to be released from the contract. I'm sure they have this on their radar and will agree to that.
Interesting that this is a Oneplus & eSim/iPhone problem too though...

Ironically the purchase of an iPhone solved my problem. I'm not using an eSIM for Sky, not sure if that would make any difference. But I would ensure that your iOS is updated beyond 18.3 if available.

Hi.
iPhone 11 user here, on an eSIM. I've been with Sky mobile now for about 4 months. Having similar issue as described above, doesn't seem to be as bad lately but is still there. Tried to open a picture my wife sent me today while I was on a call to her and WhatsApp was "connecting to network". My handset is 5 yrs old so I was initially putting it down to that but there are plenty of old handsets out there so it's hardly good enough. I see someone mentioned that the eSIM could be an issue. Maybe I should try switching to a physical sim as I had with my previous provider Eir.??

I'm on an iPhone 16 so it's definitely not an old handset issue. It's very frustrating, likewise I'm thinking about just getting a physical SIM to see if that solves the issue for me. I do agree that's it's not happening as much now as it was a few months ago.

I have the same issue since moving to Skymobile SIM only plan in February. I got a physical SIM card and have an iPhone 11. I regularly have to put my phone in airplane mode and switch it off again in order to reboot the phone after a call or after a lost connection due to being in an underground carpark. It is extremely annoying. I cannot use data during a call either.

From rading this, it sounds like you don't have any software update to enable some features on your phone, or you have them turned off by default. I have an iPhone 12 and don't have the same issues which using an e-sim.
Would suggest making sure you have the latest Apple software (iOS update) downloaded and that VoLTE and wificalling are turned on in your network settings. Also worth checking that "mobile.sky" is saved as your APN - hope this helps

Hi yes I have all this done unfortunately the issue is still not resolved and I been on to sky all day today via WhatsApp and have done everything they asked more than once and now all they are saying is to completely erase all the contents of my phone and do a full reset. I never have this problem in all my years only since changing over to sky.

I hope they mean a full reset of your network settings!!... if you follow the steps below and then go back into your network settings and manually check the network settings APN is "mobile.sky" then hopefully it will work.
Do you have physical SIM or an e-sim?

Nope I did that reset my network settings the APN is mobile.sky. Once everything else they asked didn't work that wanted me to do a full reset and erase everything off the phone.

Did you get this sorted since?
If not, could you explain when you signed up, what worked /didn't work at the point of activation. What specific issues you are having, is it data after/during calls, is calls not working.
I'm surprised your issue isn't fixed by being on the latest iOS which is now 18.4, so I think your issue will be more unusual and harder to diagnose, if you share as much info in this as possible on your erperience somebody will have the answer

I signed up in January and from the point of activation anytime I am on a call the internet drops out. For example if I am using google maps in the car and I get a call it goes offline and won't come back for a while after the call ends.
On sky WhatsApp messaging I went through every type of settings and reset on my device (IPhone 13 Pro Max) turned phone on and off and changed sim to another unlocked phone and nothing worked. WhatsApp operator said all troubleshooting steps had been completed and the last thing to do was to back up my phone and completely erase all contents and do a hard reset.
Yesterday I went back to the sky shop I purchased the contract from in January and explained my issue and he said apparently a lot of people had this problem and it was something that could not be fixed and essentially gave me the number of sky customer service so that I can get out of my contract without having to pay a fee.
It's such a shame but if I can get out of my contract without having to pay a fee I would be happy with that now because the whole situation has just really disappointed me.
