New order canceled

Funny way the Sky working taking money up front and then cancelling phone/service.

Was trying to get a new phone and ditch  the 3 mobile on my 3 phones. But my order was cancelled now sky I imagine is operating my money for days before they decide to give them back to me ?

I asked my wife to try as well, guess what she got canceled as well and obviously we have no issues taking loans, car loans credit cards but can't get a phone in sky.

I would advice anyone to be carefull giving them any money. Just got to any normal operator at least they won't scam you.

I be cancelling my sky TV services as well. Good job sky !

It’s possible you may (both) have failed the required (enhanced) credit check(s). Also, any emails which confirm or cancel the order sometimes arrive out of sequence. See this link for Skys guidance ~

Be aware that if you keep trying to order the device this could further impact your credit score. If you contact Sky they would be able to confirm that’s the reason your order was cancelled but not why you failed the credit check in the first place as they are not allowed to view your credit record. You would have to sign up to a credit reference agency like Experian or Equifax, which would give you access to your credit record.

Any upfront payment you’ve made should be refunded after about 14 days but recent posts suggest it’s taking a bit longer in which case you’ll need to call Sky to chase it up.

Re: New order canceled

Sure

I got a loan 2 days ago, no issues. My wife neither. Where and how they do the checks beyond me. Don't care tbh I get phone anywhere else If they don't need my business. I paid ~3200 bills last year for 3 phones I have with 3mobile no issues, ever. It was just cheaper to get pro max in sky.

The process should be more transparent and refunds should be issued immediately. If I don't get money back I'll make a claim on my CC and will eventually get the money back. I shouldn't have to do that. Smells bad to me what Sky doing here. They don't need my business no problem. My contract for sky if finishing in 10 days as well Inwont extend it don't need their business either.

If you are referring to TV then you have to give 31 days notice - so I presume you mean you got confirmation 21 days ago?

@MicZbik You may have inadvertently caused the issue yourself, applying for various forms of credit in a short period will been seen negatively by any responsible lender, and it will lead to them being very cautious about accepting your application.

Re: New order canceled

Still the credit check could be done before taking the money. It's the same as Tesla doing or the agency working for Tesla I should say. Pay and we process your application 😉 Then we give u back, or not or just wait until we decide to give u back. No serious lender takes money like that. I don't take money of my customers for upcoming products and decide I'll be late or not give them at all.
