New SIM for tablet - new number

Hi, I have received my new SIM for tablet but was advised that i need to get new number for this (so i could get a better deal) that's all fine as i dont use the phone number with the tablet. My question is how  do i deal with the 

to keep your old number text PAC to 65075 or for new number text STAC to 75075

Do i do this from my own phone?? Or will that mess up my own phone number?

If you want to transfer a number from one Sky sim to another then you can not directly do this with a Pac code as it isn't possible to transfer a number between two Sky sims.

The only way around it would be to use a Pac to move the number to a PAYG network, then get another pac to transfer it back to this new Sky sim.

I don't need any number.....i just need to activate the new SIM.....so can i do that without even dealing with any of that and just use the activation code and new SIM number?

Yes, just use the activation code to activate it.
