Mobile roaming not working in Uae

Hi,

 

my sky mobile roaming was working in UAE for the past 2 months and all of a sudden today it has stopped working. I have done all the step of troubleshooting from sky website and have even spoken to sky customer services and followed the steps they advised by it still doesnt work.

 

anyone experiencing the same issue? I wonder if sky are having issue with mobile roaming abroad or is it my handset?

 

would appreciate any help.

@Roamingplus 

It used to be that roaming abroad for a lengthy time required a periodic connection to a home signal (if that makes sense) but if that's still current you would think and hope the agents would know that.

Chances are you've hit the roaming limit without connecting to a UK network.

Hi @Roamingplus and @Daniel0210  yes long term roaming wasn't allowed without connecting to your home network every few months. This was an EU directive and since we left the EU I am not sure if it's still a thing 🤷‍♂️

I’m in America right now and can’t use it either. Driving me insane I need to phone me Mrs 😂 hope it gets fixed soon I better get some compensation for this hahaha

It isn’t a roaming limit issue. I got to California the other day. Yesterday it was working fine but today it’s stopped. I’ve used this in America before for 5 weeks fine. Sky needs to sort this asap. I have a job

Hi @Woody_420  have you tried doing a manual search for other networks and connecting to them ? Unfortunately you won't get any compensation as sky don't guarantee a signal when roaming, it's in the T&C's.

Been in Dubai since 16 Feb, data roaming and calls worked fine until yesterday (20 Feb) then no data roaming or calls since then. Both my and my wife's mobile and my daughter who is also a sky mobile customer have the same issue. Have checked roaming settings, spend caps and data remaining which are all OK. Suspect there is a Dubai wide outage at a minimum.

I have the exact same issue. It was working fine for the past few days, all of a sudden no roaming data data in the UAE

No one (even at Sky) will be able to provide an ETA for any (if they find the problem) resolution @Ant81 once they have a resolution hopefully all the relevant threads on here will be updated.
