travel to India

I have travelled to India for past 2 years.

I go again in a week. I travel alone.

At home I am a bit of a "Billy No Mates". I don't use my phone much. I have no real knowledge of what you can do with a mobile

On my last 2 occasions  I was automatically linked in to Intel in India.  They charged extortionate prices for Wi-Fi. I do like to use the internet a lot in India, all day and night. Intl charged my price cap of £100 a month which is my send cap.

India don't allow you to buy a SIM when you are there for some reason. Don't know why?

How can I prepare before I go?

Mobile internet access is well established in India, but you absolutely don't want to be using a SIM from a UK network to access it because the cost would be astronomical.

I'd suggest you research on travel sites to establish if either an eSim purchased in advance or a locally acquired SIM is viable.
