Issues with my mobile phone line

I am having issues with my mobile phone line and received a call today to say my number had been used in a scam.

My son said that when I rang him last week I came up on his phone with a foreign name how doI check if my number has been hacked

And what else did this caller say as it could be that they were the scammer.
