How long for new sim to activate?

Hi, I got a new phone and sim with Sky. I'm moving from o2 and porting my number. I've went on this morning to activate the sim and port the number. Got an error message 'couldn't port number' once sim activates go online to sort etc. i thought activation would take a few minutes but it's now been around 3 hours - is this normal just to activate a new sim?

It should usually activate within a few minutes but others have had similar issues in the past so if it hasn't activated by this time tomorrow you will need to contact Sky about this perhaps via social media if you don't have another phone.
