Currently in Greece. My wife and I received notification that Sky Roaming has been activated. We are using hotel WiFi not roaming, so by are we being charged for something that is not being used.

Hi @schummie as mentioned have you turned off roaming in you phone settings ? Just to be sure I also turn off mobile data and put the phone in flight mode then turn on WiFi. If you wait until you arrive in your destination before turning roaming etc off then you phone will connect and you will trigger the charge. You need to turn everything off before leaving the UK.

Re: EU Roaming
@schummie Have you switched off roaming on your phone? If you haven't then as your phone has connected to a local cell mast you will get the text and the charges associated with that.

Re: EU Roaming
Fully understand, however in June same thing happened, but this time we were on a cruise ship in the middle of the Mediterranean and the only network was maritime. Also a few years ago I was advised by an O2 operative that this is a known fault with iPhones.. it would appear that the same thing is happening with newer models

I would say that this is probably a load of nonsense.
