Do I need to activate the SIM that came with my laptop? I don’t need it but will it cause a problem?

I have just purchased an Apple MacBook Air and had to select a SIM deal as part of the purchase. I chose the one that is £0 a month as I don't need a new mobile deal but do I need to activate the SIM card even though I won't use it? I have tried to do it anyway but the sky system is horrendous and I'm stuck in a loop.

@AliciaH

You might be sent an email reminding you to activate it but you can ignore this as you do not have to do this.
