Diamond VIP sim only deal

Offer on SkyVIP for Diamond members 10gb data for £5 a month. Tried to switch to this and keep my sky mobile number. Apparently not possible.  You have to  change your mobile number to take this deal. Rang customer services and they tried to upsell me. Told the guy who had a south African accent I wont change my number so just wanted the Diamond VIP deal and he hung up on me.... terrible service. Been with Sky for 17 years. Will now be moving my 3 mobiles. Tv and broadband and my home phone to someone else. Disgusting service. If this is how you treat your long term customers heaven knows how you treat everyone else.

@Carsick

That offer only applies to a new sim so the work around is to purchase it then get a pac code for your current number and move it to a PAYG network then get another pack from that network to move it back to this new sim.

No - the terms state these deals are for additional data plans only.  (Which by definition have a new number)

Correct, you can't (easily) switch an existing dataplan to it.  There is a protracted workaround by requires porting your number out fo the network and then back in again.

Sure but they can't change the terms.  If you are cancelling your other services then make sure you're not subject to a minimum term as you'll be charged an early termination fee.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
