I've changed the provider for a SIM card that I use in my Huawei personal mobile router and decided to get a second Sky SIM data package instead. Everything worked out well until I tried to connect to the internet via a laptop and mobile phone. Every time I get a 'Connected without internet' message. The router recognises the new SIM card, and so does the laptop and phone. I've tried rebooting all devices with no luck. I've tried the new SIM card in my phone and it works fine so I think think either Sky has a block on the router or there is something I need to do to the router and/or phone settings to solve the issue. Any advice? Thanks

For anyone out there that has a similar problem there is little on the subject on forums. I contacted Sky and spoke to several people who tried troubleshooting a range of things. In the end the issue was referred as a complaint for their network escalation team to deal with. I will contact them in a few days to see if the issue has been resolved. Fingers crossed.

Did you apply APN settings?

Re: Connected without internet
Both.
Check the manuals. Phones generally have these easily accessible (on an iPhone it's Settings > Mobile Service) and for the router there will be an admin page to enter them.

Re: Connected without internet
I have an android phone. I found access point names in settingsand added a new one, however, there is no MMS APN Settings on the list. I changed what I coud recognise from your list but it hasn't changed anything. 😞

Re: Connected without internet
MMS is for picture messaging - it won't be needed here.
Is it possible your devices are network locked?

Re: Connected without internet
I don't believe so. I have used a different network povider SIM card in the past without any problems with connecting to various devices. Would it be something that Sky might block i.e. my MiFi, if trying to access a router that is not a Sky product?

Re: Connected without internet
No, wouldn't be blocked by Sky.

Thanks. I'll search the community chats and see if anyone else has had similar problems.

Re: Connected without internet
Hi did Sky manage to resolve this for you? I had the same issue when using a Vodafone sim in a 4G MiFi device. Somehow it recognises that you are using a phone sim and not a dedicated broadband sim and it either doesn't work or throttles the speed down to 1MB.

Re: Connected without internet
I have a sky sim which has been used extensively in a previous 'mifi', put it in the new one and now it says connected without Internet. I now have the sim in my phone it doesn't work for calls or data. I appreciate that we are currently in France, back to UK on Tuesday but that should not be a reason for all this. Any ideas, getting rather annoyed with it!
