Can’t active iMessage using phone number. Messages are going through email

Ever since switching to sky I can't active my phone number for iMessages, when trying to select my number it loads for a while then I get an error. I can activate I message using my email address however I'm having issues receiving and sending messages and calls, sometimes goes straight to voicemails. My family have also noticed when receiving messages it is showing as my email instead of my phone number/contact.  

I noticed in my phone settings I got an error saying I must have a sim associated with my phone number in order to active I message but that is what I currently have in my phone so not sure why this is showing. I've checked all my info in my settings both through the sky app and my phone and everything is showing my number I just can't select it for iMessage. 

I've also tried refreshing all my internet settings which hasn't helped either, any advice?

Is this phone you have from Sky ?

After refreshing the internet settings did you reboot your phone and then check to see if the correct number is being shown.

 

If you have the you could try ordering yourself a replacement sim as that might well fix this issue:

 

https://www.sky.com/productsettings/mobile/sim/x/replacement-sim

 

If you can't then will have to contact Sky, perhaps via social media as there are links at bottom to their sites.

@caesarome Thanks for this but still the same issue, ive tried activating a replacement esim but that didnt work, ill reach out to sky hopefully they can sort it

I'm having the same issue and have tried all the thing you tried but I'm no further forward, I have reached out to sky and they have told me to do a few thing including rebooting my phone but hasn't helped, have you reached out to sky and if so has it helped?

- In Settings, ensure your phone number is showing up in the phone screen under my number

- In Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, untick your number

- In Settings > Facetime, untick your number

- In Settings > Messages, turn off iMessage

- In Settings > Facetime, turn off facetime

- Restart the phone

- In Settings > Messages, turn on iMessage

- In settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tick your number

- In Settings > Facetime, turn on Facetime and then tick your number

 

IMessage and Facetime should show waiting for activation. You should then get it activated after a few minutes.
