Backpacking in SE Asian for 5 months - will local SIMS work or are we locked in to Sky?

Hi all, my son is going backpacking to southeast asia for 5 months and obvs we can't pay daily intl. roaming charges.

Everyone is suggesting that he buys a local SIM, but are Sky Mobile customer's phone locked to them only? He has a SIM only contract... Would local SIMs work please?

Thank you - apologies if it's a stupid question, haha 🙂

@HeidiSE

All mobiles from Sky are unlocked so you should be able to use any sim in them.

@HeidiSE  It's never stupid to ask a question you don't know the answer too that's what the community is for 🙂

@HeidiSE  Always best to check before you go somewhere rather than find out when you get there 🙂
