Probably because the contract is 12 months longer than you thought.  A Swap24 contract is 36 months.

 

...or it's just the dataplan?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

If it is the sim did you give the required notice of 31 days to cancel it ?

 

As noted above Swap24 is a 36 month contract, the 24 part refers to the fact that after 24 months you can swap your device for another one.
