Unable to record on sky Q box remotely using sky go app
I'm unable to record on my sky Q box remotely using the sky go app. I don't get any error. It asks me if I want to record once or the series and seems to accept the request but then no recording on my box.
It works if I'm on my home WiFi (where I can also see recordings) but not if I'm away from home. I spoke to sky who advised that I have to be on my home network to do this but that contradicts what I've read online!
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, checked the software version on my Q Box and I also subscribe to multi-room (which is apparently a pre-requisite).
What am I missing?

What they told you is nonsense as you should be able to set recordings to your Q box via the Sky Go app when you are away from home so when you are not at home are you on a mobile data connection or perhaps something like a works Wifi one ?

It doesn't matter what I use. 5G or another WiFi connection. Always have a good service and can connect to app and tv guide with no issue. It asks if I want to record once or series and then I see the R against the program. Then nothing on my scheduled recording on the actual Q box.

To get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who should be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to a few hours to be contacted via this.
This link explains how this works so you will need to respond to the chat bubble at the bottom of the page when it appears by typing it it to start the chat:

When the chat bubble does appear you will need to respond to it as soon as you can or it will be closed if there is no response within 48 hours. To start the conversation just type in it.

That is odd as it is working for me. Using mobile data only I managed to set a remote recording to my box.

@crispy74 I have Sky Q and just tried it by switching off my wifi on my phone so I was only on my mobile data and was able to set a recording successfully as well
So it is still working
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@crispy74 afraid it wont what you have been informed is incorrect.
Mine is on the latest firmware for the Q box (Q310.000.13.00L ) and for the Sky Go app i'm on the latest software version 25.1.1.
Have you tried uninstalling the app from your mobile device then rebooting your Q box then re-installing the app and finally trying to record again to me it seems your Q box is not registering with the app to receive the record command.
The old Sky+ app was really good for checking that it was all registered and the correct viwing card was registered but this app is no longer available/supported

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I've tried from both my Apple and Android mobiles and it doesn't work on either. Sky Q box on Q300 software version which I was told by sky was the latest version. Sky have basically dismissed my issue.
