I was told that as it was the holiday period, there was no one to help me! I am past getting angry but they do mess you around.

Re: Sky Go technical and access restricted error
Much like some of the other replies I spent a long time on the phone getting passed further up the chain to better technical teams before someone said they'll get it sorted. I'm expecting a call back to confirm when they've fixed it, but it does appear it's a manual fix that has to be scheduled in with a particular part of the technical support team. What a mess.

Re: Sky Go technical and access restricted error
This is yet another discussion marked as answered when it is not. I have to say that this community is a total waste of time spouting usual fixes as the support teams at Sky do which never work.

@Slcmpc Have you read what was written in the answer ?
The Sky employee has marked their post as the answer as the problem has been passed to the appropriate people to be looked at and they will update the answer when they hear anything. They have also added things to try. No one has said the problem has been solved.
This lets everyone one know that the problem is being investigated and any updates will be added when known. So basically its a holding post until a solution is found .
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Sky Go technical and access restricted error
It is NOT an answer. The suggestions do not work. The problem with this forum is that the numpties on support use the answers to patronisingly make suggestions to me while I wait hours on the phone at my expenses.
2 months later, no progress. No acknowledgement. Support staff working in ignorance. Sky are NOT working on it. They can if they wish manually correct customer's accounts but in the meantime stuff the customer.
This is appalling treatment of the consumer.

Re: Sky Go technical and access restricted error
This is a solution and confirms what several others have said.
These error messages mean that the "system" believes that you, as identified by your user name, do not have the appropriate subscription to view the selected content. This is not the application itself but an issue at Sky's end. It can happen for no reason regardless of any changes you have made - IF ANY.
I knew that there was something wrong when I could not rename or delete devices on the Sky Go page. Check if this is happening.
This problem has to be corrected by Sky engineers in the UK and in my case scheduled in their workload. I got this done by messaging Sky Help Team on their Facebook page. Make it clear that it is not a problem at your end but a permissions error at Sky, something that they do know about. This will save you calls to their overseas call centre, hours of your time and get it raised as an issue. They may ask if you have done this or that and you may need to play along with them if you haven't but from their viewpopint I can understand that they want to eliminate the obvious.
Now fixed, we move on.

Re: Sky Go technical and access restricted error
I was told 48 hours ago that mine would be fixed in 48 hours.
It hasn't been.
