Re: Sky Go stuck downloading update

I have got my Sky Go App sorted (Mac Laptop) by uninstall/reinstall the app, quite simple in my case.

Re: Sky Go stuck downloading update

I had a similar issue and established that my Windows antivirus firewall was preventing the app from installing/updating.

I temporarily disabled the firewall because I noticed I received a Windows app integrity warning regarding 'Sky Go' that only briefly popped up on the right side of the screen.  Once I had turned off the Windows firewall, the app immediately finished the update process. I then received a message from my firewall asking if I trusted Sky Go and ticked the relevant box. I turned the windows firewall on again and since then, there have been no issues.

Re: Sky Go stuck downloading update

Sky have consistently had this problem for many yuears and consistently failed to fix it.

I have had several football matches ruined by this problem and today received my notification that despite paying considerably more than any other streaming service, despite enduring endless adverts and having the same old issues over and over again.

I've tried just about every idea in this thread and nothing has worked for me - that same stupid blue box tellimng me it is (alledgedly) downloaing update.

Absolutely hopeless

Re: Sky Go stuck downloading update

Hi there everyone,

I've just subscribed for Sky Stream so maybe it doesn't work for me yet as I haven't even received the Sky Q device yet for my TV,  just ordered today (Sunday).

However, I've found a fix for Sky Go not installing properly on Mac. I have M1 Sequoia but maybe you have the same issue as me?

My problem was that the app was not installing properly. The installer would open and load something and then nothing would happen. I investigated further and it seemed like a Mac back-end application called Rosetta 2 is required in order to install Sky Go.

However, this app cannot be installed manually - it needs to be prompted automatically during an app installation. So, to trigger this automated prompt to install Rosetta, I've went into Finder > Applications > Terminal, then right clicked and selected "Get Info":

Here, I selected the "Open using Rosetta" option, which triggered the prompt to install Rosetta on this Mac:

Once done, I've tried to reinstall Sky Go and it worked! However, I'm now stuck again as after logging in I can't seem to stream anything - however, this could very likely be due to my subscription being super new and maybe not fully active yet, as I've just ordered today. Maybe this can help with your problem?
