I had Rosetta already, SIP was disabled. I had to:
1. go to Sonoma 14.5
2. Enable SIP
3. Remove Sky Go and Reinstall it
then it worked. Just doing 1 & 2 didn't work on their own, had to do 3, even though I used the same file from my downloads folder that I already had installed, removing and reinstalling solved it

Yes, I get that.
I and many others have tried the following several times, but it still isn't working for many of us.
- Uninstalled the app
- Deleted Sky Go ‘SkyGoInstaller’ from the Downloads folder
- Deleted Sky Go app from the Applications folder
- Removed Sky Go files, and deleted every single file related to skyGo even the hidden files.
- Deleted Sky Go folder from ~/Library/Application Support/
- Emptied Recycling Bin
- Rebooted the Mac
- Enable SIP
- Restart the Mac, and reset NVRAM and PRAM
- Downloaded and reinstalled fresh SkyGo
Just jumps once and does not open.
I use Beta on one of the Macs, it gives me a crash report for the SkyGo App. I cannot find anything in the crash report.

Posted by a Sky employeeHi all,
Thanks for your feedback so far on this 🙂
I have seen another user mention these steps and I'd like anyone who is still having the issue to try the following (for both silicon or Intel processors):
Let me know how you get on doing this.
Thanks,

The only check box I have in the get info box is 'locked'. I don't have an open with one

Didnt work for me

Ciao daniele-f,
vorrei ricordarti che rosetta2 si installa solo su Apple silicon e non su Intel essendo un applicazione per adeguare le app ai nuovi processori non ancora compatibili , e comunque da me testata e non risolve il problema ,saluti

...do the following for me when you are next with your Apple device (Silicon or Intel processors) ...
2. Check the 'Open using Rosetta' check box
Rosetta is not available on Intel Macs.

Rosetta still functions on Intel based Macs, though it comes preinstalled I believe rather than something you need to manually install. If you can still check the steps and let me know the result I'd appreciate it 🙂
Thanks

Just inlcuding myself into the discussion. Have the same issue but firmly believe that I should not have to make any specific changes. SkyGo should work with default settings on a Mac.
Granted, i am on macOS 15 (Sequoia) Public Beta, which doesnt help me... i obviously understand that.

Dear Daniel-F, Sky Employee,
Thank you for taking the time to respond despite your busy schedule. I want to confirm that all of my Mac computers are built on Intel processors, which means there's no need for Rosetta installation.
Numerous individuals have explored this, and the option for Rosetta is not available to us Intel Mac users.
I hope that in the last month, the community members have covered almost all the topics and answered all your questions.
This suggests that the SkyGo App needs to address this in the next update. I hope the update will be released soon.

Hi Daniel
I don't have a box that gives me an option to check for open with rosetta, i only have one with the option, 'locked'.
I am close to selling my Mac over this. Is there a fix as i seem to be going around in circles.
Thanks very much for your help
David

Hi Briggs,
We aren't wanting you to install Rosetta if you are on an Intel based Mac, this is already installed 🙂
If you can check what I've requested however we are looking for user examples of following the process I've sent over into the thread and any roadblocks in the steps that stop you from completing it or some confirmation that confirms it's helped.
Thanks

Dear Daniel-F, Sky Employee & Community Moderator,
Once again, thank you for making your best effort to help us resolve this issue.
I have carefully reviewed the entire thread and the questions asked by Sky Community Moderators. Yes, some of the information you have described has helped some of the users but not all.
I have noticed that many of us, including myself, have replied to each question/process requested by Community Moderators. I am not sure if you have had the chance to read all the responses in your busy schedule.
We have followed all your examples of the processes and none of them works.

The roadblock in this case being that there is no option to "Open with Rosetta". Aside from this, the most recent instructions are simply a repeat of the original suggested fix, albeit with less detail.
Nonetheless, I've attempted to reinstall Sky Go yet again, this time after having opened Safari as requested. The result is the same. The app is installed, but upon opening it just bounces once in the Dock and quits itself silently.

I have followed your steps and the app still crashes straight after the login window appears.
I have an intel mac and I am not able to select Rosetta.
