Bitdefender blocking my Sky Go. Reading other posts. I have tried the following and not worked !
1) turning off Bitdefender protection and installing Sky go. It installs briefly, then detected by Bitdefender and blocked again, qwont load.
2) reinstalling from Sky.com - No still blocked
3) adding sky go to Bitdefender list of exceptions to allow ! still blocked
So I think solution is with Bitdefender ??
How often do Bitdefender update ??
Welcome any other solutions

I also had Bitdefender. Send them an email, still waiting for a reply. In the meantime I uninstalled Bitdefender and took another Anti virus app and low and behold SkyGo now works.😃

Sorry for the delay replying.
It was straight after the last update. The uninstall/reinstall did work and now everything is back to normal
Bitdefender had zero issue when I reinstalled Sky Go and no issues since so fingers crossed, the mystery is resolved.
Thanks

I hit this problem when I watched to watch F1 practice 1.
I tried unisntalling, reinstalling, running then it updates. Next time i lauches, Bitdefender has a fit.
I tried adding exception, but it wouldnt work.
Sky go app installs into the appdata roaming folder. This folder is monitored by bitdefender. So I had a crazy idea.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, update it but then not relauch. I think went to the folder location is, and copied the Sky Go folder inside c:\User\{username}\appdata\roaming into C:\Program Files, and bit defender has zero issues running from them.
Sky, please let the application install into the Program Files directory instead of installing and running from the User data folders. The type of actions sky go tries to do from this location, mean antivirus software will treat it as a protencial security risk and quarantine it.

Go has always installed into the 'wrong' place: unfortunately that's unlikely to change.

Hi everyone, I did an empirical test, perhaps even a little stupid, I copied the SkyGo.exe file that I had on another laptop on which it continued to work and I copied it to the laptop on which BD was blocking it for me (in folder "C:\Users\giank\AppData\Roaming\Sky\Sky Go\Sky Go.exe") , and ....it works.
I rebooted several times to make sure it still worked.
In the end, to be sure, I uninstalled everything and redid the installation by downloading SkyGoinstaller.exe from the site .... and it started working again without blocking from BD.
I didn't understand if it was the copy/paste operation or if they fixed the problem in the meantime.
🙄😲

It's disappointing! You would think two big companies- Sky and Bitdefender could sort this out ! Thousands of SKY GO customers unable to access a sky app, thus missing sports and viewing??
SKY techies sort this out quickly please !!

I'd suggest getting in contact with Bitdefender seeing how they seem to be the only anti virus software currently flagging Sky Go as being malicious.

I forgot... I opened a report to BD, they asked me for a BDsyslog and screenshots of the malware detection messages (dated 5 June 24).
Yesterday I received an email telling me "since we haven't heard from you for three days, we are about to close your ticket!!" 😲😲
Of course I said don't even try
However, I confirm that now everything continues to work without blocking from BD.

Posted by a Sky employeeMorning all,
Thanks to this thread, we managed to liaise with Bitdefender who updated their software and it should now be identifying Sky Go correctly. If you're still having issues please update your Bitdefender software 🙂
