Disney plus not working for 6 days

Hi - I've been getting for following message when trying to open Disney Plus.

Error Code: 1026 - AUTH_SERVICE_INIT_FAILURE

 

ive tried calling Sky, who said to check for software updates - which I have done. Then tried calling back as advised by Sky and asked for APP TEXHNICAL SUPPORT - but just getting  sent to this terrible service.

Which Sky tv service, do you have, Sky Q or Sky Stream/Glass?

 

When a few others in the past have had this problem, it mostly due to an internet communication issue.

 

A few things to try:

 

Are you using some kind of VPN software on your local network, if so disable it for your Sky Tv boxes if you can.

 

Otherwise, try restarting your router, leaving it off power for at least thirty minutes as doing so will for most ISPs reset your WAN IP address.

Plus, do a power restart of both your TV and your Sky boxes.

You will need to provide some more information. Where are you seeing this error? Is it when trying to watch content etc? Is it live TV or apps or both? And to confirm you have sky stream / glass?

Have moved your post to a similar fault thread.

 

It seems this error needs some intervention from Disney re your broadband supplied WAN ip address.

Read posts in this thread and work with Disney to resolve.

Thank you for the tip I had same issue was resolved by contacting Disney.nothing else worked.Its a ip address issue.

Disney+ error 1026 (Auth service init failure)

Hi,

Since yesterday, Disney+ will not load on my Sky Glass and shows error code 1026 – “Auth service init failure”.

Disney+ works fine on my phone and other devices

Other apps (Netflix, Prime, etc.) work fine on Sky Glass

Sky Glass is connected via Wi-Fi

Issue started suddenly yesterday

I’ve tried all standard troubleshooting:

Full power resets (including unplugging for several minutes)

Restarting Sky Glass via settings

Restarting router and reconnecting Wi-Fi

Checking for software updates

Nothing has resolved the issue.

From what I can tell, this looks like a Disney+ authentication issue specific to Sky Glass, possibly requiring a backend entitlement or auth refresh from Sky.

Has anyone else experienced this recently, or has Sky been able to resolve it on their side?

Hi @raixo and welcome to the forum.  I have just checked my Disney + on my Stream Puck and found it worked however there appears to have been a Disney+ update since I last opened it about a week ago as the homepage was different (preferred it as it was TBH).

 

Have a look at this LINK to see if it helps..  Also there was a previous thread on the subject back in March 2024 which might be worth a look.

What Sky device are you trying to log into Disney + on?
