Why can I only record half a film on certain channels

I'm getting fed up with my sky glass! It won't record a whole film on certain channels.. sometimes it just doesn't work. The WiFi signal is bad especially on a Sunday evening.. there seems to be a few issues and it's very frustrating.. im not impressed with the service I'm getting at the moment to be honest.

@Kalisti

Typically that's where a channel chooses to insert a (bogus) Movie or Celebrity News item into a film runtime in order to evade Ofcom restriction on the number of advertising breaks permitted within a single item of content: this has historically caused problems for Sky recording.

That's not helpful really.. I pay a lot if money each month. I should be able to record a whole film not the first hour of it!! There must be a way around it??

Does it happen on any of the subscription channels you pay for .... rather than the FTA channels?

Sky know that FTA ad supported channels do this to generate extra revenue... Sky's system should allow both parts to be recorded ... Sky have had years to address the issue☹️

Unless the two parts are legally two different items under Ofcom regulation.

To record both on one request would acknowledge they are the same item, in which case the broadcast is breaking Ofcom restrictions on advertising.

What happens if both parts are marked?
