So I heard or rather read that other people have gotten refurbished units as a replacement for a faulty TV.
I purchased a 65 inch glass tv on Sunday, arrived Thursday, subwooker was rattling at 40%> volume, picture was great for what it is (I don't care for OLED quality or whatever as long as it is watchable and seemed to be better than my LG un80 43 inch TV. However, I asked for replacement on Friday due to the sub vibrating the "new" TV arrived today, subwoofer not vibrating or as much, high volume 60> 80> YouTube music depending on song for my test was tadow and was definitely better, however* I feel as though the picture quality is different, ofc I can not put both side by side but there's something else.
So as anyone who bought a brand new product and returning it for a replacement the next day of receiving it I expect a brand new unit, however, the tape on top of the box looked slightly peeled near the middle, there is a tiny bit of tape hanging from the top right of the screen near the top speaker, like 3mm, at first i thought it was a crack but no thank god but there also is light leak from the top right speaker, I also feel as though "Dolby atmos" is not as "surround like". Also the one i got first was already updated to the latest firmware, the replacement had to update, the first TV also had a weird thing with sky cinema movies, the black bars would display green noise artifacts, i would have to back out/unplug to fix it and it would happen a bit, the replacement SO FAR does not display this issue, I do feel though the picture isn't as good though, could just be my brain after seeing the whole refurbishment stuff, not many posts about it from what I can find, other than that the TV seems fine but I suspect it is a refurb which I do not want as I literally just paid for a brand new one, I read they are not obligated, sure after 6 months on a return send me a refurb, but within 48 hours of receiving a brand new tv, come on.
Hopefully last post about this TV as I do like or rather liked it as stated it is better than my old LG un80 43.
I know long post but from what is written am i right to suspect it is a refurb?
And if so how can i get sky to give me a brand new one as that is what I paid for.
Also another thing I remembered, the replacement I suspect has more blooming than the previous one.
Did I receive a refurb? Should I just return it and buy another one? Should I return it and ask sky for a brand new one as that is what I bought? Or should I just return it all together and save for a Mini LED or OLED (I got glass cause of finance, will take me a year to save for a Lg c2 etc)
Just feel a little lost due to the lack of information/posts and I doubt sky advisors know anything either.

Just looked at Skys website, they offer refurbished tvs for cheaper, I paid more than £10 deposit for the 65 inch and it's £23 per month, I saw the 43 refurbished for £9 when new it's £14, it's an actual disgrace that I'm being charged for a new tv and got a refurbished tv, I will be calling sky on Monday and I will give them these options.
1. Send me a brand new tv and take the refurb back.
2. Lower my monthly costs and I keep the refurb
3. If all fails and they decline then I instate statutory rights which I don't even have a clue about but I should not be charged full price for a refurb, you can also bet I am not paying £25 to return it.
4. If those fail then I will cancel all direct debits and not pay a penny. (Probably bad but I will read the contract to double check) until I get the result I want.
So for anyone who is in the same boat, I suggest you contact sky and do your thing.
No one should pay full price for a refurb, considering I've had the TVs for 4 days only it's a disgrace and I'm now considering leaving sky completely. Wish me luck I guess.

You should NOT do option 4 ... just cancel altogether stating you within your cooling off period🤔
Giving Sky options is not a good idea if you are unhappy😉

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Danb5 you TV should have been swapped with one of equivelent quality. Sky do replace faulty units with fully refurbished units but as your set was new and faulty on delivery you should have been sent a second new set. If it bugs you call Sky and complain. If however the new set is acceptable you may want to keep it for less hassle
In terms of picture quality see if changing the settings helps. Oddly I find that the Vivid picture preset is the best but I watch in a very bright room, picture preferences are very sunjective but dont becfirightened to experiment you can quickly reset to one of tge presets.

Some say production quality control was poor for Sky Glass TVs ... so there is every chance you received a new TV🤔
BUT you are unhappy ... the niggle monster at back of your mind may only grow😟

Ask them to confirm it's a new unit and either way replace with new as you list the faults. Worker ina sky shop said there was a bad batch doing the rounds after I complained about my unit, which is going back and I'm getting an OLED instead. As you say the favourable but is 4 years interest free but your still purchasing a tv of some cost and they hit your credit file. I'd find a retailer who can do interest free. John Lewis do 18 months, heavier monthly cost which you can try to offset with a better stream deal and it's paid off whilst the tv is in good condition.
issue with 4 year payments is the tv perhaps doesn't last 4 years and left owing.

It should be remembered the loan is on an old out of date TV ... so is it a good deal really🤔
A new currently cheaper TV with a more expensive credit agreement ... is possibly a better deal😉
Especially when connected to a Sky Puck to get the Sky Stream subscription TV service or even NOWTV😊

As mentioned in another thread panther are collecting my 65 glass Wednesday. It's been mentioned that I will get part month subs back and the £10 upfront and the month of tv HP I've paid. Also waiving the £25 return cost. I have however dropped back to Q but recontracted 24 month as it brought the price down by 40%. CS mentioned I can swap to stream once return has been completed.
finance over 12 months interest free is on my credit card, can then play the Martin Lewis and pay less per month and transfer the balance at 12 months to an alternate card for more interest free time.
lessens the damage of a higher monthly but gets a great 2024 tv.

It should be noted it is not HP ... you are taking a loan that requires full repayment if not cancelled within the cooling off period🤔

Wrong wording. Essentially it's the same as a mobile contract? Handset vs airtime

With respect to a Sky Glass TV you buying a TV with a loan that requires full repayment ... the Sky TV subscription is incidental😉
