Switching to glass

Hi,

had an engineer out following an issue with my satellite signal. There is now a tree blocking the signal and no other location for the dish. He suggested changing to stream. We still would like to use live tv. Would swapping to glass solve this?

Re: Switching to glass

Great! Does stream offer live viewing or only download options?
hoping for it all to not cost me loads more as I can't help the tree being in the way 😫

@Hannahw18  If you are happy with your existing TV it would be much cheaper to get a Stream Puck with a one off payment of only £39.95 plus your monthly subscription.

Sky Stream and Sky Glass are practically the same thing. The only difference is that Sky Stream is a little box you plug into a TV, whereas Sky Glass is an actual TV with the sky box built in.

Both services offer the ability to watch live TV and on-demand content.

Re: Switching to glass

Amazing so it's just instead of the sky q but will do the same thing?

Can we not chat to people on the live chat anymore? I wanted to get it sorted today but also don't get phone signal lol

Re: Switching to glass

Stream or Glass don't record in the same way Q does. Stream and Glass rely on streaming services across the board. You need a good, stable internet connection too. Without it you're up a creek without a paddle.

I would suggest seeing if there's anywhere near you that sells Glass and going for a demonstration to see if you like it before buying. Stream and Glass are essentially the same system except one has a TV and Speakers around it! In a few days Sky are launching the Glass Air, a cheaper option to Glass due to not having the same speaker system.

Both systems connect via WiFi but it is recommended you use an ethernet cable or Powerline adapters to connect Stream/Glass to the internet for a stabler connection.

Hi @Hannahw18 in addition to the reply from @Anonymous you should also be aware that the available programmes are not the same as with Sky Q.  THIS link details what is and isn't available on the streaming platform.

You mentioned that you would like to chat to someone at Sky so you can contact them as follows: If Sky is your mobile provider you can phone them by  dialling 150.

If it is not your provider follow this link https://www.sky.com/help/home and scroll down to need more help, click on this and you will see an 0333 phone number to use to call Sky. Unfortunately I cannot include the actual phone number as the forum filters will block it.

To get past the chatbot the easiest thing to do is just stay silent when it asks you questions and it will eventually put you through to the Customer Services team.

Apparently the quieter times to phone are 7-8 am or 8-9pm
