Hi @Fothergill1,

Absolutely, which is what I've done/have been doing (as above), but as you suggest, we shouldn't have to utilise work arounds.  It's a bit of a poor show for a TV in this price range.

I'm fast learning that Auto is not ideal (to say the least), and I tend to manually select my viewing experience, when so inclined.

Thanks.

I fully agree with you. At this price range it's not good enough. The poor lip sync was one of the reasons I returned my Gen2 Glass within a week of ownership. There was just no consistency to it. The non-Glass TV I replaced it with has been faultless since.

Hi @BenJoBanjo,

🤔I may be following suit if I'm still not happy by Sunday night...!  👍

Thanks.

Hi @Jporch316,

As a test, I've just set the HDMI to 'passthrough', just to bypass any processing by the TV, to see what happens with the Humax Box.  Obviously this won't change the lip syncing issue with Sky, but I need to follow the process of elimination.  😄  I shouldn't have to do this though, it should work without issue, but what can you do...  😏

Thanks.

I tried the 'passthrough', which appeared to resolve for a while, but yesterday the sync issue returned.  I tried the PCM Stereo too, with the same results.  The sync issue now appears to be ok on all but the Humax Box, although I now get a crackling noise on HD & above channels...  This is very frustrating indeed...!!  Disappointment persists...

Re: Sky Glass Gen 2 65" voice sync gets worse with time.

Hi all,

Small update.

I've noticed that the worst culprit for audio delay is Freeview 101, BBC One HD.  I've not checked the other HD channels, but I suspect they'll be the same. SD Channels still have a small delay, just not as severe as BBC One HD.  I've not noticed the delay on most of the sky channels, but I did on Monday night, while I was watching a streamed (not live)  box set...

The puzzle continues.

Thanks.

Hi, when you replaced the Gen 2 tv with a non-Glass tv, did you then connect via a sky q box? Or a sky stream box? I'm also having sound / picture sync issues with the Gen 2, and not sure what to do next.

I use an Apple TV 4K box for all our TV viewing now. The NOW app gives us Sky content along with all the other standard streaming apps. It's much more versatile as you can choose which apps to download rather than being restricted to the ones Sky choose to host on their servers.
I haven't had any lip sync issues at all since switching from a Stream puck to Apple TV.

Hi tv-fan, I didn't replace with a non gen 2 TV. Before using my gen 2 I used a puk. I'm not sure what to advise. I've not noticed much delay recently to be honest. I have upgraded my Freeview TV box, so that may have helped, because that is where I was seeing most of the issue. Thanks, Paul.

Hi BenJoBanjo, thanks for the info.
so if I'm understanding correctly, you're using NOW TV instead of a Sky subscription? I'm wondering whether to switch to NOW and a non-glass smart tv ....  how have you found the NOW app? Any issues? Thnx

He uses NOW and a variety of other apps (and a VPN), through the Apple TV 4K.

Do a Google and check out his thread on AV Forums called "My alternative to Sky Stream", where he posts under the name teeveedee. It may say which TV he has now.

Correct. The NOW app is perfectly fine for the small amount of Sky content we watch on demand. No issues.
