Sky Glass 65' powers off when in standby

Hi

Our Sky Glass 65' powers down when in standby mode usually overnight or when turn it on in the evening. Have tried leaving it unplugged but startup is taking an excessive amount of time - but once the TV goes into idle for a period of time it powers itself down again. At first a power off and power on sorted the problem however we now find it is taking over 5 - 10 mins for it to be in a state it can be used. Steps I have tried so far : Leaving the power unplugged ( Overnight ) Factory reset the TV ( several times now ) tried powering it on from the button on the side of the TV.

The LED that shows the TV in standby is not lit and the TV will not power on only thing that seems to bring it back to life is to leave it unplugged and then let it's a 5-10 min wait to startup.

When you did the factory  reset  were you talking  to a sky advisor  at the time as if you do it on your  own  it can cause more problems  than  it  solves, how old is your  sky glass tv ?  Is it still  under warranty  ?

It is not recommended to perform a factory reset for a Sky Glass TV or Sky Stream puck unless Sky have authorised it.

You seemed to have tried other possibilities, like leaving off power and the recovery mode.

Have you also checked the motion sensors settings and the auto standby mode.

Would  suggest  you  ring sky about this and see what they say  now  as you have done a factory reset without  being  advised  by sky to do so

Re: Sky Glass 65' powers off when in standby

Hi

Been through tech support trying to resolve the power issue. There seems to be a software issue as factory reset dosen't complete from the settings menu or by the process of holding the button in for the set to enter reset mode. We tried with and without internet connection - sky support say this is down to the TV not responding to commands in the reset menu's. TV is out of warrenty but since this now most likley software which sky update this is down to sky to resolve not me to either pay for a software repair or a new TV.

Any thoghts?

Cheers
