On Friday and Sunday we tried to watch our Netflix with ads via stream
puck and no matter what we tried the quality was worse than a vhs video
we switch to prime and no problems with that or other channels.

Hello,
Since Prime works fine, it’s not your internet. Try restarting the puck, updating or reinstalling the Netflix app, and maybe test Netflix on another device.
