Sky don't use email as a general method of communication for their customer services team.
As far as I'm aware the avios system works in a similar way to other “reward”/”cashback” site in that it requires the transaction to be fully completed online and use cookies to track the transaction, however sometimes these types of rewards just will not track for a variety of reasons .
