Hi @Stoppy09

Have you tried turning it off at the socket, waiting a min then back on again?

Thanks,

@Stoppy09

Is that across all channels, or just in that particular content?  I think the subtitles would be expected to shift with that on-screen display.

Having checked on my own Glass the subtitles appear either left or centre on different channels.

Thanks,

Re: Glass tv subtitles not right

I found this when my mate came over, he needs subtitles we were watching BBC iplayer and the subtitles were to the left, I could not find a way to change them.

We stopped the program and watched direct from my LG the app on the TV still iplayer and the subtitles were centred.

I think it is yet another Stream "feature".

@Stoppy09

I think you are right Glass/Stream seems to left align subtitles. This should be an easy fix for Sky to code them as centred 🤔

I'd of thought if watching iplayer the subtitles would be provided by that app but for sure grey were left through stream centred through LG TV. No idea unfortunately!

After checking again, almost all aligned to the left.

UHD went to middle and some others were ntop of the screen (sport) where onscreen graphics were showing.

I'm pretty certain the left alignment is how it's set to work and is not a fault as such.

@Stoppy09 it's probably worth getting in touch with Sky directly to discuss if it's disrupting your viewing.

Sorry can't be much more help.

Thanks,

Tim

I have just checked my system and see the subtitles are also set to the left hand side of the screen.

Re: Glass tv subtitles not right

I've messaged to my mate about subtitles and he says they should be centred as your eyes are drawn to the centre of the screen when viewing and therefore easier to read and watch.

If to the left you either focus on the words or the action but you can't do both.  He has never experienced left alignment in all is years of watching TV, even if moved to the top allowing for on screen graphics they are always centred.

How do Sky get these basic needs for those needing additional assistance when viewing so wrong?!  It's not as if subtitles are a new thing 🙄

Re: Glass tv subtitles not right

Yup, another Sky release **bleep** up. Subtitles are rubbish anyway but somehow they have managed to make them worse. All left aligned and also keep falling behind the actual speaking. 😡

So this should be fixed now.

I've checked mine this morning and they've moved to the centre.

Re: Glass tv subtitles not right

Any explanation from Sky? I doubt it. Seem to have stopped the constant pauses I was getting as well.
hello sky!! How about some explanation how these bugs keep appearing?

Re: Glass tv subtitles not right

@DavePoynt

The issue I suspect is someone was given the task of subtitles and although that person was probably highly capable of programming he or she had no understanding of the needs of the hard of hearing and or no idea of the standard industry requirements that subtitles are centralised, they just did their own thing with total disregard and left aligned.

Does nobody sign work off before going live? Can you imagine the outrage if the despised BBC did this!
