why does it seem as if I am the quilty party in all of this ? I hear everyhing and understand what all are saying BUT I can ONLY go on what has been said by engineers. It should not be expected that I question or disagree with the experet - i am just the customer who is paying for this nonsense
How can I cancel contract without charges being leveled please

also if everyone on chat knows about the aerial issue WHY does the engineer NOT
05 Sep 2021 02:36 PM
the management company have nothing to do with this, they will not pay for a communal dish. they say it is personal choice of homeowner if they want sky.
another point if sky only erect dishes at domestic level How come there is a massive sky dish on the roof ?!
it is not possible, nor should i have, to ask neighbours how to get sky
There is a communal tv aerial, and i now have acess to cupboard; which another engineer said was needed so they could fit an adaptor

Posted by a Sky employeeThe commercial dishes on the property are not managed by Sky. They will be managed by the management company. The management company may no longer use then, but they will not have been installed by our engineers.
I really don't know why the engineer has chosen to use that wording to describe the dish, it's definitely not the language we use. But they might have use it to make it easier for people to understand.
If they have said they are returning on 17th to do this, then they may very well be installing the personal dish for you, I would definitely ask them to explain it to you on the day though.
If you are wanting to cancel the services however, you can do so by using the contact methods on this link: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv You will not be charged until your are installed and the cooling off period is 30 days after installation, so there will be no costs in cancelling. There may be upfront payments which need refunding however.

No need in getting yourself worked up over what is at the end of the day just TV

the dish is not and never has been managed by the management company. I have lived here for 32 years and until a year ago was a director of the management company

not wishing to be rude to you BUT I am housebound through severe disability (PIP benefit) until I die.
tv is a major part of my life - can I suggest you think carefully before posting comments which may be blase and upsetting

unbelieveably crass. i was not dying for 32 years - and if my granddaughter thinks it will give me any type of pleasure and so is paying for it I think your remarks are totally out of order

It's a bit of a mystery then. Perhaps best to wait until 17th and see what transpires. Do let us know what happens.

there is no communal set up. asked engieer when he came on 17th what he was going to do and he said i don't know. can i look behind ur tv to see if you have a box! hello = no... now i see it has been logged as cancelled visit. UNBELIEVABLE
20 Sep 2021 01:53 AM
he could not explain anything. now discover it was logged as cancelled visit... NO, NO, AND NO

THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY HAVE NOT INSTALLED DISH. THERE IS NO COMMUNAL SET UP. YOU SAID AERIAL AS SCOTT TOLD ME HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. SO I HAVE PAID FOR AN AERIAL GUY TO COME AND HE SAID THAT NOPE NOT AN AERIAL ISSUE. DISH ISSUE. SO 1ST WHY HAVE I NOT EVER BEEN OFFERED A DISH. 2ND WHY AM I BEING FOBBED OFF WITH RUBBISH ADVICE AND PLATITUDES THAT DO NOT GET WHAT I HAVE ORDERED AND SKY COMMITED TO PROVIDE

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSadly predictable, I'm afraid. You posted previously that you know of two other residents who have Sky TV. But with no communal TV system and no satellite dishes on the property, I'm baffled as to how they're receiving it, unless it's via another provider such as NowTV or Virgin.
I don't know of any way you can progress this further with Sky.
