Sky communication for disabled people is poor
I really do not make telephone calls. I hate it with a passion, as it creates so much anxiety. I don't like navigating AI and voice prompts for menus. Sky have a chat service but it is sometimes not functional and you can't communicate after office hours.
I would prefer to email and not have to use chats or make calls. This BTW is not just limited to Sky - I had to make a complaint to BT to get assistance.
I did change my address with Sky - only to find this has not been done. I did with the Sky Chat.
Not great service at all. And don't tell me that I should ask someone else to phone on my behalf - I find that incredibly patronising.
I hate to know what elderly folk have to put up with in this digital age.

That's because email is extremely difficult to validate to any satisfactory degree, and Ofcom gets distinctly unhappy with ISPs that make account changes without adequate security checks. Realistically it's also an extremely inefficient communication mode for call centre staff to deal with, and ISP profit margin on any particular subscription is already rather thin.

There are ways to confirm instructions by email... also secure email.
I have had to endure years of Egress emails from local authorities...

People telling me about accessibility teams:
all good and well - if they do what you request. It is a LIMITED service - only office hours etc.
This is what disabled people have to put up with constantly. Half baked services.

As we've told you repeatedly now if you have health issues that might affect your ability to communicate, then all contact should be made through the Sky Accessibility Team.
I don't know what their operating hours are but you will need to persevere in contacting them. There's no point in venting to other customers who are trying to help,you.

I have mobility problems and a hearing loss so to do things over the phone gets really challenging at times.

I see you've been a Community user for a while now so presumably are already registered with the Accessibility Team?
If not, and you have health issues that might affect your ability to communicate, it may be worth registering with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help now or in the future. Once registered there are also different methods of communication with this team other than phoning so have a look at the related links here… ~
