Re: Sky Sports App content on PC

I was just looking in the Sky GO PC app, and I just see the standard Sky Sports channels - ie I don't see any of the additional Sky Sports+ streams.

I thought that both Sky GO and the Sky Sports Desktop Player for PCs don't have the Sky Sports+ streams.

"Sky go... Which has the channel lol"

Just to clear this up, Sky Go has the Sky Sports+ channel, but I'm assuming that it doesn't have the additional streams...

So let's get this straight.

Re: The Sky Sports + Extra Streams.

I can't watch the streams on my non Glass Sky box.

I can’t watch the streams on the Sky Sports App on a lap top.

I can watch the streams on my Android Smart Phone but cannot Project the screen to a TV because Sky disabled this functionality.

As lovely as my phone is I cannot watch a match on that screen size.

Why on earth restrict access?

Appalling VFM for the majority of Sky customers. So essentially it's a marketing ploy to move subscribers to Sky Glass

"You can have this but you can't".

Extremely disappointed like the majority of users on here.

All to do with making more money through a greater income and lower amount of piracy.

Well I think the majority would agree that it's a lousy strategy to make content inconveniently awkward to access for loyal paying customers.

That kind of strategy will push more people towards pirated solutions rather than deter.

It shouldn't really - particularly if you read the recent news articles about the number of people being convicted and imprisoned for running illegal pirated services. They have also been convicting people who have been watching the illegal streams and not just the distributers/operators.

Re: Sky Sports App content on PC

Pushing people to try pirated streams can happen even when there's no intention not to pay.

Not showing an event in its entirety (eg Virgin not showing UFC events in their entirety), not showing all EPL football games (not the fault of Sky, of course), not making Sky Sports streams available on PCs/laptops can all lead to sports subscribers finding a way to watch pirate streams (usually with a VPN being used).

I'm sure there's a fair few who, once they've discovered how to watch pirate streams, have jacked in their subscription(s), with the reduction in price outweighing any risk and reduction in quality.
