I tried to watch a Sky+ game yesterday via the Sky mobile app on my iPad. The stream was constantly frozen. Unwatchable. My WiFi is full fibre and very fast so I do not see the WiFi as being the problem. What is going on?
Could be many reasons, too many to guess here

I bet you're glad you didn't get to watch it now! UTS! 😄

Reply from Sky, completely ducked the question. Time to switch to Virgin
"Thank you for contacting us and we're sorry to hear you're disappointed with the Sky Sports+ coverage.
We're working hard to give our customers more choice than ever before and will continue to improve the experience over time.
Thank you for getting in touch with your feedback and if you wish to further help our website can offer further assistance - www.sky.con/help"

Same here. Will Sky pay for my SpecSaver appointments after I watch my team on my PHONE. Ridiculous. Again misleading promotion.

"You are paying to watch on Sky Q / Glass /Stream or Sky+, the app access is a free bonus for Moblie phone/tablets" - I fully disagree, no matter what Sky might say.
There are very rarely genuine "free bonuses" in life - everything is costed, and taken into account along with any resultant benefits for a company.
Sky on the go via the Sky Go app on PCs, Macs & mobiles/tablets, Sky Sports Desktop Player and Sky Sports app cost Sky money to develop & maintain, but at the same time encourage people to take out, or keep, their subscriptions.
In fact, on the Sky Go website it is states: "Yours at no extra cost as part of your Sky TV subscription". "Yours at no extra cost" is not really the same as "Free access".
And all this also affects Virgin Media customers with a Sky Sports subscription.
The Sky Sports Desktop Player was last updated in 2020, and with Sky Sports+ available via both the Sky Sports app and NOW, I would have thought that an update will be made soon, or at least Sky Sports+ links will be made available.

@IanC1963 With Virgin Media you also have to use the Sky Sports Desktop Player, so it's the same issue I'm afraid. It was bad enough that the Sky Sports F1 streams were not available on a PC/Mac, but it's so much worse now with Sky Sports+ streams.

@MarkGoldsmith Does the Sky Go player for PC/Mac provide Sky Sports (with a Sky Sports subscription), or is it necessary to use the Sky Sports Desktop Player?
BTW I understand that Sky Sports+ (and F1) streams are not provided by either player.

@SKY1992bf Thx for the reply. What is the purpose then of the Sky Sports Desktop Player for PC/Mac? I know it is used by Virgin Media customers, but do Sky customers just use Sky Go in order to watch Sky Sports linear channels?

Been with Sky over 10 years still on the old HD box... wanted to watch Chelsea tonight. Downloaded the app to PC and phone and can't select any match just crappy LiVARpool... glad my contract is up in a few days. What a joke when even the BBC can do multi matches on the same channel lol.

I've got the Aberdeen vs Rangers match just now on Sky Sports Football on a PC, but I would be irate if it was on a Sky Sports+ stream!
I totally understand how annoying it can be, especially when these streams would appear to be available on NOW on PCs.
Surely Sky could just provide Sky Sports+ links, thus allowing these streams to be watched on the Desktop Player.

It would that he has the Desktop Player app on a PC.
But there's no links available to play Sky Sports+ streams (you can only watch the main Sky Sports+ channel).

Sky go... Which has the channel lol... Didn't even know sports had it owns app...

It looks like my reply applies to only Virgin Media customers then, and those of any other providers, that use the Sky Sports Desktop Player to watch Sky Sports content on a PC. They don't use Sky Go.
However, I very much realise that this is a Sky Community forum, and not Virgin Media.
