Re: Verify email account scam?
This is 100% a scam.
Sky do not own the internet name "contact.sky" - its not real. Whether its email.contact.sky or notifications.contact.sky - its all fake. Any communications from sky will come from <something>.sky.com
And by the way - the latest scam pretends you are due a Sky refund. Don't fall for this one either.
SkyQ Silver, Samsung 65" UHD and too many wires.

It's interesting you assert that with such apparent authority, since two of the nameservers defined for contact.sky are ns0.sky.com and ns1.sky.com
It's a legit email apparently, but really badly designed.

Nope sorry, that is incorrect, emails from Sky do come from contact.sky as I have had plenty of them over the years so thsi email is actually from Sky although really badly worded and refers to your email address on your account that needs to be both up to date and not a Sky one.

Re: Verify email account scam?
If you've received the email, it's obvious to anyone with a brain that they have the correct email address for you! So, if genuine, this was something of a pointless exercise and certainly completely unnecessary to send repeat emails when there was no way to verify your account.
Why do you say that you should not use a @Sky.com personal email account? I don't use one but know several people who do.

The point of the email was to get people to set up non-sky email contact details so that if they get locked out of their sky account, they can get a recovery code or whatever sent to another address they still have access to.
It would have been somewhat helpful if the email had actually said that.

Re: Verify email account scam?
I've received the same email. The link takes you to id.sky.com (I didn't enter any details) but this is the same as the if you go to the sign in page via the sky.com website.
I don't need to do verification as I've already done it in the past.

Re: Verify email account scam?
Do you have a Sky email address setup on your account as the recovery email address, if so that is why you have received this email.

If you read the previous posts, it would appear they are actually asking for you to add a non-Sky email address for recovery purposes, so do you have a non-sky address address in your account?

Re: Verify email account scam?
I did read the previous posts. I do have a non-sky email registered with sky and it is verified. The link did take me to id.sky.com, so I feel the email is genuine but confusing for those who have already done what is requested in the email and don't read the end of the email which says if you have already verified then don't worry, you don't need to do anything.
