When you get logged in have you gone through your emails as you would have been sent the email with the recovery code on it so check other folders like the trash/bin one,

Verification code? Or Recovery code? The Recovery code is displayed in screen and you have to confirm you've noted it before 2 Step log-in is activated. It's also emailed to you.

That should be sent to your mobile or whatever phone number you have provided when setting it up.

@lmh

If you didn't make a note of it, and can't find the email that would have been sent at the time, you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

Sky's implementation of 2FA is a complete disaster, there seems to be no way to recover from the loss of the recovery code.

Re: Turning off Sky 2 step verification

Absolute pain. I agreed by accident when in a rush to log in... absolue pain when no signal on phone. Cant find recovery code-- its on an old email some say but I cant see it.

I'm switching accounts and having to tell all contacts of my new address

No, I'm sure it will go to the Sky email you turned it on for.

Re: Turning off Sky 2 step verification

I don't have or can't remember my recovery code.  I'm having the same issue as another writer. The option to turn on a two stage recovery appears live but doesn't go anywhere! It implies that I can turn it on but it's on already!

Any other ideas?

It both appeared onscreen and was sent to you in an email when you first turned it on so have you gone through your past emails because if you don't have it then like everyone else you are stuck as there is no way to retrieve it.

@John105491

You seem to have posted to 3 different threads, it will be easier to advise you if you stick to the one thread, and preferably the one you started,

That doesn't really make any sense. If I turn it on, I definitely don't get asked to do it again.

What is the recovery code

The recovery code is what you use to turn of the 2 step verification, so if you turned this one it would have been sent to you in an email so to enter it you need to do this:

Select "can't sign in with the code" link. You'll then be asked for the recovery code.
