Switching off two stage login
I'm being forced to keep "two stage login" but I cant have it because I can't have my phone on me.
I did disable it once myself, but that action seems to have disapeared.
How can i turn off Two Stage Login for Sky/Yahoo Emil login?
Thanks

Re: Switching off two stage login
It can not be disabled I'm afraid as it has now been turned on for us all.

Re: Switching off two stage login
Thanks I was worried you were going to say this.
This is very draconian when I cant have my phone on me due to sensative equipmet i use.
So i need another email provider if they won't get rid of two stage login for me?
Crazy world we live in where everyone else knows what's best for us except ourselves.
I hate this age we live in more and more, I pity our grandchildren.

That would be an alternative. GMail currently doesn't enforce 2 factor authentication

Re: Switching off two stage login
Gmail doesn't use 2FA as a login.

Thanks for your help on this.
Do you know the best telephone number to speak to a human assistant within sky regarding this 2 stage login topic?
Thanks .

Re: Switching off two stage login
I'm afraid I don't know of a best number so just use a normal one, however I'm not sure what can be done for you.
Can you not use an email app instead on your phone as that will not require the need to use 2FA like logging into the website does.

Re: Switching off two stage login
Isn't Sky Yahoo email an email app albeit it is on my desktop.
I'm only forced to use my mobile phone when Yahoo 2 stage login asks for input of the authorisation code which sent to my phon. If it wasnt for the authorisation code the phone is'nt required.
so if there is no 2 stage login, no need for my phone, no problem with my equipment. Simple
Please dont suggest Yahoo sent an authorisation code via email because obviously i'm still logging in to be able to see my emails! ie catch 22. Although this wouldn't be the first time this suggestion has been madi in my IT career. lol

If you are using the Sky website to access your emails then you are asked for this code, so if you have created a shortcut to the Sky website on your desktop then this is why this is happening.
If you use an app like Outlook then you will not be asked for it.

Depends on how you access it on your desk top.
If you use a browser, it isn't an app, it's a website.
If you use an app/client, such as Outlook, Thunderbird and many others, then they are apps/clients and will only require the code during installation, after that you will not need another code.
