Stuck in an endless loop

Hi, please help me!

My physical SIM card has failed so I can't get any service on my phone. I've tried this SIM in 3 different handsets and it's not working in either of them. I've managed to request an eSIM to try and negate this and get me back online, however I have 2FA on my email account. I can't access my emails to get the confirmation code, as it's sending a text to a (currently not working) mobile. I also have no idea of the recovery code. So I just keep looping around. I spoke to someone in the Sky Shop at Gateshead Metrocentre who kindly caled customer services for me but they couldn't help as I wasn't at home with access to my Sky Pucks???

So now I'm home with no way to call anyone and chat seems to be closed. Any suggestions???

Thanks

Martin

@mentalmerv

When you set up 2FA on your email account a recovery code was shown which it asked you to make a note of so all you need to do is to sign in with this as it will then turn 2FA off and should allow you access to your emails.

Appreciate you taking the time to answer 🙂
I would have set this 2FA up years ago and the recovery code has been lost to time and ageing!
Managed to buy an eSIM on a different network for now so at least I can call Sky to try and sort this out, currently on the phone so will keep you all posted. 🤞

@mentalmerv it would have been more recent than that, as Sky only introduced 2 step login about a year ago. Either way, you do need to speak to Sky if you don't have the Recovery Code, and ask them to turn off 2 step login on your behalf. It will take several days.

I discovered someone dropped my phone and screeen is gubbed. Cant unlock mobile so cant get code to sign in to access my emails. Dont remember Verification code. Im in hospital and cant access any numbers etc. Is there a way to access email without going through mobile?

 @hotstep the Verification Code you need to log in, is only sent by SMS text message.

Unfortunately you can't change the number it's sent to, or generate a new Recovery Code (that you can use to turn off 2 step verification completely) without a code first being sent to your current mobile number.

You could give Sky a call and ask them to turn off 2 step verification on your behalf, which will take a day or so.
