Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

Thanks - I'd sort of decided that was the way forward - I need to make some spare time to attack it - it may not be tomorrow.

I'll post if I get it resolved, or not............

Thanks everyone for trying to help

I cannot sign into my sky email (last 2 days).

I've had the email account for over 20 years and there is no recovery email address attached as that wasnt required when I set it up

It takes me to the sky details page with lots of options but nothing about signing into my sky email account. I can sign in fine to my main Sky account just not the sky.com email account

From that page under Sky ID you can add a recovery address, I wonder if that would make any difference?

Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

Unfortuately when I set up th eemail adress over 20 years ago, a recovery address wasnt required so there isnt one.

I do have recovery codes (they reset once you've used them)  which I've used 3 times over the last 2 days and same reults..........

They don't actually call it a recovery address, but it now recommended that you have a non-Sky address in there for recovery purposes.

Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

Under Sky ID it doesnt give me the option to add another e-mail, but I've already got  it set up to send me a recovery code instead, which it does

Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

After several faied attempts to sort it out Sky couldn't do anything said it was Yahoo's problem as they are behind  sky.com.  I tried several times and various people to try and reslove it. Then tried Yahoo but Yahoo wouldn't talk to me as I wasn't a 'Yahoo' customer. I tried everything. In the end I've had to change my email address on everything as I can't recieve any new emails to that address. I have all my old emails (20 years worth) on an old laptop - looking at how to transfer them to some kind of storage. Morale of this tale use the actual mail address owner not a proxy. Using my Apple address now.

Are you having DNS failures? Have you tried the suggestions earlier in the thread?

Are you now saying you get DNS failures, which go away after changing the password? You never mentioned that on the thread you started.

Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

That wasnt me that said changing the password solved it for a day, it's a new recent contributor - I was never able to access the actual  account to change anything.

Re: Service Unavailable - DNS Failure

The DNS failure happens to me so I log out log back in to the sign in page enter your username or email and enter, then it asks for the password if I put the password in it is then when I get the DNS failure, but if on the password page I click on forgot password it sends a 6 digit code to my text or another email allowing me to change my password and I get back in for about 24 hours

@doodrops

Assuming you are using a PC browser when the DNS  failure occurs, could you show us the URL shown at the top of the page when the error occurs, it will be interesting to see if it is the same as that shown earlier by @JudeA .
