No email access for 10 days is a big impact in a world with 2FA to access accounts.

I'm affected by this too. So do they have a technical problem affecting tons of users that'll auto-magically get fixed "at some point" or is this something we've done/not done with our accounts? Anyone know? I was using my email account via Chrome just a couple of days ago then yesterday started getting this "You can no longer create a new Yahoo Mail account via Sky." error .. constantly, in all browsers, even after clearing cookies etc.

That is a reply from someone who does not know what to do as it really is a poor response.

 

Have you tried using a different web browser ?

Yup, tried Edge & Chrome, on my phone & PC, tried clearing browser data & cookies in both browsers .. no dice 😞

I had the same issue, I received an email a few weeks back telling me to log in to my account via browser and not the app to save my account being deleted. I did this at least 3 times a week yet this morning it had vanished and when trying to log in I got the 'sorry you cannot create a new account'. Spoke to a customer service representative and they said my account had been disabled by mistake and it should be back up and running in a few days. All I can do is wait and see if this happens.

Mine is the same. Ican log in to my Sky account but not email. tried different browsers. Only used my email yesterday.

Just found the same issue this morning as well with my Sky Email on Yahoo. 

 

I had received emails from Sky saying that my account would be removed if I did not use it but I signed into Yahoo several times and it was fine till 2 days ago.

@dishdonkey did you use the link in the email to log in? You need to have logged in via the Sky website, not Yahoo, to prevent your account being deleted.

Oh, I wonder if that's what's happened 🤔 I wouldn't have clicked the link in the email, I'd have just gone to the sky.yahoo.blah.blah address & logged in. OK, I guess I need to contact Sky & get them to undelete my account or something then 😬

Yeah I did.

 

I spoke to Sky it is a known issue with a lot of people.

 

I rang ending in 2135 (given by the original op on the help desk number) and they are dealing with it. Been told 24-36 hours, just received a text confirming it.

OK, update. Not sure how to get this out wider, maybe an admins on here can help get the message out. 

 

Just spoke to Sky. What I've been told has happened is that Yahoo have suspended around 25,000 email accounts & if the account owner doesn't call to get the account un suspended then it'll be deleted shortly (I think the support guy said Dec 11th 2025)

 

I had to call Sky on this number oh three four four two four one one four one one (won't let me post a phone number 😡)  and ask to be connected to the IDM team, who'll be able to assist you.

 

To get through to the IDM team I had to got through to the retention team (well known hack) & ask them to transfer me 👍

 

The chap I spoke to has raised a Yahoo ticket to get the suspension lifted on our 2 email addresses & said it should take between 24-72 hours to be done.

 

100% totally 💩 customer service. We did everything we were asked to do & it seems Yahoo just suspended accounts anyway as its easier to do & Sky don't care as their view is email is "complimentary". So if you don't know/realise & don't call then your email will be getting blatted!
