Leaving... How do I keep my email address?

Hello, I've been with Sky for over 20 years but I'm absolutely disgusted with the way I've been treated and talked to by the out of country so called customer service team. I've been shouted at, talked over the top, belittled, and not listened to. All I wanted was a reasonable renewal price but they are just rude and tbh not bothered that I'm leaving. I remember when sky had a great customer service team and they made you feel valued and you'd have a good chat and come up with a reasonable renewal price. But I'm not paying eighty quid for a basic package! So off to Virgin I go! Anyway, I'm waffling on as I'm so annoyed, my question is, as I've been with Sky so long I obviously want to keep my email address. I asked customer service and they said I could, but I asked them to explain how this works but they made it sound very confusing and complicated. Can anyone explain for me? As surely if you close your Sky account you won't be able to log in to the account to check your emails? Or for example if I got a new mobile and I was setting up my new phone I'm worried I wouldn't be able to get my App on my phone showing my emails because I have a at sky dit com email address? Please help! 

I have submitted a written complaint by the way, but it was handled in the same 'couldn't care less' manner. I even said I'd raise it with Ofcom as my renewal email was so unclear and confusing (no where did it state what my monthly direct debit would be), but again they didn't care, one operative even said to me, 'go on then, report us to Ofcom'! He was a real charmer ha!

If you cancel your broadband subscription you can still use your Sky email as long as you log into it periodically.

You can comntinue to login to access your Sky emails and you must do this at least once per year to keep your email account active.

You are worrying for nothing as you can access your emails via an app you want and should you need help withn this we can help you via here with anything Sky related.

@JRJV21A when you leave Sky you close your account, but not the Sky ID it's linked to, so your email address, which is also linked to your Sky ID  remains intact. That's providing your email account remains active - which means logging in from time to time via the Sky website, rather than any email app you might otherwise be using. Unlike some other providers, Sky don't charge for your email account.
