IOS18 update empties Yahoo notes folder

I have lost all my notes in my Yahoo folder after the IOS 18 update 😩 Any ideas? I've done most of the fixes suggested online and have worked through Apple's fixes with a remote agent. They say it's a Yahoo / Sky issue ... but it happened after their update!! Any help would be great! Thanks ☺️

Can you see them if you log in directly to Sky's server here?  https://www.sky.com/signin/email

So far as I can see, Sky Yahoo Mail doesn't have a folder or mailbox for notes. Contacts, yes, but not notes, which suggests to me that notes is uniquely an Apple thing and nothing to do with Sky. If that's the case, you would be right to complain to Apple. 

There's another,  wider intermittent login issue specific to Apple's Mail app which they also appear reluctant to fix.

Just logged in on the link you sent and I can see a notes folder and it has my notes up to September 2020, but after that nothing, which is the same on the notes folder on my iPhone. Really appreciate your help!!

I guess I don't have a Notes folder because I've never created any notes!

In that case, it may well be a Sky/Yahoo issue, and Yahoo does have an unfortunate habit of randomly deleting stuff from folders. You may have been another victim. You could try Yahoo's recovery process here. It's designed for recovering deleted emails from your Inbox, so I don't know if it will work with your Notes folder: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln2552.html

If thay doesn't work, they're gone for good, I'm afraid.

I too have lost all my 2024 notes. Apple says they can't fix it because not on the cloud and yahoo said they don't backup notes. Now what? No one can assist

I have lost all 2024 notes - GONE. No one can assist me Apple tried everything and because they are yahoo email notes I went to yahoo. They do not backup notes folders so no assistance there as well. What should I do? Any recommendations??

There's a slim chance they're online if you log in here: https://www.sky.com/signin/email

If not, I'm afraid, based on what you've said, they're gone, unless you've kept your own backup copy.

Apple notes are a strange beast. I assume you are using the Apple Mail app.

A previous poster on here lost all their notes after being advised to setup their email using the Yahoo server details instead of Sky's, and all theirs notes disappeared.

When they changed the server details back to Sky's the notes reappeared.

Now, no matter whose server details you use, the storage is the same on Yahoo's server, therefore the notes are not stored there.

Which means they are somewhere in Apple's storage, but whether that is local or in the cloud I can't work out.

Possibly a search may help find them, but I'm sure it's not a Sky or Yahoo problem.

It's a known bug with iOS 18.2.
Try this fix:

close the Notes app.

Go to the Settings app

Tap Your Name

Tap iCloud

Tap Notes

Wait for the Sync this iPhone toggle to appear and ensure it’s enabled.

Then open the Notes app & wait for the accounts to sync.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?  I've recently upgraded to ios 18.4 (wasn't able to do the previous update as didn't have enough storage). I still had Yahoo notes on my phone after the update, however yesterday I was forced to re sign in to Yahoo (seemed to be for calendar access as wasn't getting a notification on mail), and since, Notes since early 2023 have disappeared. They are not in the Notes mail folder. I can't imagine that Notes have not been syncing for 2 years when I've been signed in and using the feature but I don't know where to look. My calendar and mail are up to date.

I have yes, however that doesn't recover the Yahoo notes - I assume that just re-syncs the iCloud notes as the Y! notes should be syncing to Yahoo? I have also searched in Notes in case they are hidden, checked my deleted files on my iphone and deleted and archived items in Yahoo.  If it was just a couple of days of data it wouldn't be so bad but I've got notes about my kids milestones etc which are not stored anywhere else:(

I can't imagine these notes haven't sync'd for 2+ years when everything else is fine (and notes was working fine until I signed in again)??
