@mc321 if you're logging in via this link, you should be ok: https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

Sky themselves tell me it's a scam email and nothing will happen, although the advisor didn't seem sure of it in all honesty.
It's not a scam.

my issue is I cannot log in using the link in the email as my sky id is not the same as the sky email that is/will be shut down, so I think I'm screwed.
Use your Sky Yahoo Mail email address and password to log in via this link.

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

if I use my sky id to sign in as per the instructions I just get a message to say I can't set up a new yahoo email, which obviously isn't what I am trying to do.

The reason you will have been sent this email is because you do not login online here on a regular basis:

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

So if you do this now and perhaps at least once per month you will not have any issues with your account being closed.

This is not true at all.I use my email account daily and sign in thrugh sky email and still got this message sent to me today, both tho my sky email address and my recovery email address

@Ellie152 nobody here can do that I'm afraid, and I'm not sure Sky can either - you could call to ask. However, the advice given to Superusers is that if you're logging in via the Sky website, you'll be ok.

It's the same process as was run about a year ago, and I don't recall seeing any posts then complaining of unexpected account closures.

Hi,

I have received an email with regards to my sky email going to be shut down is this a scumming scam?
as my sky email is my main email address so why are they lying and say I do not use it? Are they this thick? I think it's a scam and they want you to click on a link to add a virus into your device! Scamming thieves  they are low life's and go to anything to get your monies!

my address is used everyday so why these lies?

I received an email saying that due to inactivity of my sky.com email it will be closed by 4th August, and I would need to update my details. To keep this email address

You might have been sent this due to not logging in here for a while:

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

So if you can do this regularly then going forward you should have no further issues.

People are being sent this whether they have logged in or not.I use my email address daily and have been sent this,so its not right informing folk that it could be bcause they have not logged in.

This is ome what worrying because we now have no idea if they are going to close our email address down or not

Well, you and others keep saying this, but I got the same email today, and I log in daily through the sky web site, as Outlook is so utterly useless. I've been logging in daily for the last couple of years. So how come I got the same email?

@Mark39 Can you tell us what link you refer to please?

There are no links in the email other than one that tells us how sky uses our personal information and rights

Still think it's a fraud as how can they tell you are not using it then? When it is used every day so they have so messed up! They delete this account there is going to be BIG TROUBLE

Exactly. The email is genuine and contains no links which might 'add a virus to your device'. as the poster was wildly speculating.
