Exactly. The email is genuine and contains no links which might 'add a virus to your device'. as the poster was wildly speculating.
So i just got off the phone to sky and they have told me that the email has not come from them.They have checked the last email they sent me and it tallies with the mails that i have from them recently.
So we are being told here that it is legit,but from sky they are saying it is not from them so.......which is it? And how do we prove who is right?

I just did get off the phone with them and was told the email is NOT from them and that this is now being investigated and that they will get back to me within the next week if there are any updates

I can only tell you that Superusers were made aware directly by Sky on 23 June, of the deletion process that was about to commence.

It is normal for your Sky ID to be the part before the @Sky.com in the email. Is it possible you have more than one Sky ID?
It appears the current round of deletion notices has been instigated by Yahoo, and are for accounts that have not been used in a very long time.
Did you possibly create extra Sky addresses (called additional users) while it was still possible, but have since forgotten about them?

I have the same issue and when I try to log in using the email link a messsge is displayed stating that no new accounts can be created so what are Sky asking customers to do?
This makes no sense and I am on holiday and worrying all my emails will be deleted! There isn't even a link within the Sky email. Confusing and worrying for customers!

It begs the question though why sky are telling you one thing but telling its customers the exact opposite when they ring them for help
Also why are people getting this message that use their email daily (i include myself in this) via the sky website,its obviously nothing to do with not logging in as we keep being told here, otherwise this many people would not be getting the email saying their accounts were being deleted when they are reporting here that they use their email account on a regular basis

Thanks for repy, I log in 3 or 4 times everyday through that link so that cannot be the reason. I logged out and then logged back in thinking I would get conformation that everything was going to be ok but, no, nothing to inform me my account was going to be kept alive.

I can't answer any of that but I do remember something similar happening last year when Sky did this. We had people such as yourself saying they do login who were then sent the email but to the best of my knowledge I don't recall anyone who were logging in and had been sent the email then saying their account had been deleted.

Yeah,its going to be a worrying time now with fingers and everything else crossed that the account is not deleted on the 4th
As others have said,it would be nice to receive another email after logging in after getting this deletion email to confirm that we have logged in and that it wont be deleted.
But really we should not have received it in the first place if we are using the email regularly (even though sky are saying it is not from them)
We are just left hanging in the air now being told different stories

I expect I dont have a "sky.com" account and I only log on via my main pc or App

Yahoo mail
Sky have sent me an email saying that it seems I don't use my Sky.com account and they will close it. I do use it as my main email. How do I ensure it is not closed?
