2 step email verification

I am trying to enable 2 step mobile phone verification on my Sky Yahoo account and have followed the steps in Yahoo mail help but there is no option for this under Account Security only password change which also comes up with an error

I'm fairly sure it isn't possible to do this with a Sky email account but is with others like Gmail and even Yahoo's own email accounts.

@caesarome is right. Two step verification isn't available for Sky Yahoo Mail

I don't like two step verification and want to stop it.  I have sky yahoo email but don't have a recovery code!   Any ideas please?  Thank you.

You will have been given the recovery code when you signed up for 2FA. If you didn't make a note of it at the time, you should have been sent an email at the time.

Re: 2 step email verification is a pain and I want to stop it,

What is the process if you don't have the recovery code? If it's in an email it's not possible to gain access? Is there a number to call?

You should still be able to get access to your emails by signing in with the verification code that is sent to your phone by text.

Do you only sign into the Sky website to access your emails as you could use the email app on your phone to access your account.

Re: 2 step email verification is a pain and I want to stop it,

Yes I can do that but I prefer going on the webpage. If I lose my phone or travelling I find it easier on the Sky webpage . Just wonderd if there is a phone contact I can call to reset as there are with Banks.

I'm afraid not because when you first set up this to use the verification codes and as you were sent the recovery code it looks like it has been set up so the user has to make a note of it as there appears no way to recall it.

From previous posts, I don't think Sky can turn off 2FA on your behalf (though as with many Sky Yahoo Mail issues, it's possible the adviser didn't know what to do, if it IS possible).

Sky's 2FA really is a mess.

I tried it and was given a recovery code on screen and by email. Quickly used the recovery code to turn it off as it is so obtrusive.

Tried it again just now with same email address, and was given a new recovery code on screen, but no email has been sent.

If this is happening to others, it really is a disaster waiting to happen.

I get the impression that it was a simplistic implementation done solely for  the purpose of Sky being able to say they comply with an acknowledged security requirement. It works, but only in a very shoehorned way.
