xBox Live will not connect (or stay connected) via SKY Router

Hi, sorry for creating this thread but i cannot find an answer that actually works for me..

 

So Last 5 days or so (after years of no issues) my XboxLive Account would no longer connect - After days of trying lots of suggested mehtods to resolve i finally found that lead me here...

 

I had Formatted the Hard disk, deleted Profiles, Cleared Cache etc..  all to no avail..   Eventually i enabled my Phones Hotspot and connected and Voila...  it worked..   So this is clearly an issue with the Connection after it hits my SKY Router and onwards...  That seems fairly clear.

 

Anyway i found a thread that suggested Sky Shield may be the issue... I have disabled that and recycled the Router..   Still no change.

 

Ive spent an hour or so onto SKY's Tech Support people, who were all very nice, but still at the end i am no further forward.  i dont wish to change Provider but i dont see as i have any option other than trying else at this point..

 

So im looking to see if anyone had the same issue and what they did to address it ?

Have you tried fetching a new public IP address by unplugging the router for a few hrs?

Hi thanks for response..  it has been turned off for about 15mins max as per Sky support requst..  If. leaving it longer is required then i will disconnect overnight and see if that improves things .. thnx for the suggestion

Certainly requires more than 15mins. Minimum of 30mins but lately it seems Sky's IPs are more sticky so it could take hrs.

Left the Router completely unplugged overnight.. no change.

 

Ive ordered a new Router to try to eliminate the SKY Router from the equation.

Well that didn't work either ..

 

as far as I can see there are a significant amount of posts on this forum alone to strongly suggest there's an issue with the hardware (router) or onward network... why it only affects some folks and not others is beyond me.

I've been on to sky and they have agreed that I won't incur any termination charges if I decide to terminate my broadband and move to another isp. 

im going to test the Xbox on a relatives network (virgin) and if this works I guess it's worth considering

Tried using Virgin broadgand in another household.. 

Whilst this altered the situation  and it seemed to connect to Xbox Live. it was still terribly slow. (like 30/40 Secs to "sign in".  this has confused the issue ever further as on mobile hotspot it takes 3/4 Seconds to perfom the exact same action.

I give up - time to consign the xbox 360 to the recycle pile.
