Will grey cable work with new hub

Broadband meant to be activated tomorrow just opened box to new hub..no black cable with purple plug just black cable with yellow plugs ..need the one with purple plug...would the old grey cable that with sky q hub work

A 300Mbs service from Sky Broadband can only be delivered over FTTP ('full fibre') for which the black cable with yellow ends (a Cat5e ethernet cable) is the relevant one: this links an ethernet port on the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) with the WAN ethernet port on a Sky Broadband Hub or Max Hub.

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.
