Change to full fibre ahead of switch off

I understand that my area now has full fibre capability and I will need my broadband to switch to this before the UK switch off. I currently have Superfast 35 which is part fibre/part copper wires so I would like to be sure that Sky will contact me about this and make the change in good time?

@AB505  If you upgrade or come to the end of your contract it should be offered to you. Sky can't go around cold calling users to see if they want to upgrade to fibre.

If someone has helped give them Like.

@AB505 no need to worry Sky are already contacting customers in areas with full fibre offering upgradesnobody should be left behind.. However dates for the switch off of the copper network for broadband use is years off.

You can check yourself as to whether fibre is available in your road by going into the My Sky app go into the Broadband section scroll down and click on upgrade now. If full fibre is available you will see options for Ultrafast ip to 900Mb/s. It can take a couple of years to complete a roll out for a large exchange so dont be too surprised if your road is not listed.

It's PSTN (analogue) voice signalling which has a switch-off target date*, not the copper bearer network.  In areas which haven't been reached by full-fibre the copper circuits will be carrying digital data for years to come.
