Wifi with wireless speaker

I play the radio and music from iPhone to HomePod. Some of the time it is ok but sometimes it just randomly cuts out. Same happens if playing it from my pc to the HomePod. I used to have this issue with my previous bose speaker as well which is why I'm thinking it is not a speaker issue. Can anyone help but please bear in mind I am not very techy so plain instructions would be very welcome as I am tearing my hair out with this issue.

@Loobs72  Are both of the devices trying to play the music both connected to the router via the Wi-Fi, that is the PC, we know the iPhone is connected via Wi-Fi.

@Loobs72  How is the Wi-Fi signal to the PC and the iPhone at times throughtout the property? Do you have any areas that are weak or dead zones within the property?

Re: Wifi with wireless speaker

No. Signal is good and speed fast. A lot of the time it works fine and other times it's a nightmare cutting out

@Loobs72  Are you okay in being able to log on to the router to check the times this happening if it is happening at the same time as timer for lease time for the connection and so dropping the connection on the router.

Could you post your router stats please. following the link below. Just would like to make sure it is not the router dtopping the Wi-Fi.

@Loobs72  Can see from those stats that the last dropped over 15 days ago. But you are saying it is dropping on a more regular basis?

@Loobs72The next time it happens. It might be worth checking to see if all devices have dropped off or it is just those on Wi-Fi. Check to see if there has been a drop in the connection. The lights on the router will tell you if you are at home at the time.

Re: Wifi with wireless speaker

The PC that I work on at home is connected by WiFi and that doesn't drop off and the phones and iPads don't. It's just the speaker

Re: Wifi with wireless speaker

I am having similar problems. I have a number of HomePods around the house. When streaming from my Mac, some of the speakers will drop out and then reconnect a minute or so later.
I had the problem previously when with BT and the fix was to ensure that all speakers were on the same frequency (2.4 or 5Ghz). I don't see this option with the Sky router. The router options on the Sky router seem to be a bit limited

@Loobs72Does the speaker run on the 2.4 Ghz or the 5 GHz frequency. Could it just be getting crowded out?

@Graemew81  You can split the bands and make sure the devices in question connect only to that frequency.

Re: Wifi with wireless speaker

@Highlinder @I didn't realise that. I'll do some digging. I'm quite new to Sky Fibre so need to spend more time reading. Thanks 👍
