WiFi but no Internet (or phone)

Hi All

I have been suffering from an occasional fault (on average 1 or 2 days a month) for the last year or more.

I am absolutely convinced that the problem is with Openreach hardware (or software) and NOT a fault with my router, but as the only way to get to an Openreach engineer is via my provider hence my posting here.

As I said this fault has occurred on many occasions, this latest was spotted after a recent village wide power cut - When power had returned I was trying to play some music on my Sonos system and I noticed half my speakers were "missing" from the app. I tried resetting my speakers but to no avail, so, even though my router was showing 4 green lights I tried the power off/on to reboot.

Much like previous occasions my router returned and is now showing Power-green, WiFI-green, Internet-no light, Phone-amber.

I have run the tests that inevitably pop up on my phone, I have also tried to use the MySky app to get an engineer appointment but, as my WiFi is working it says the system is fine (but it's not!)

Does anyone have any idea how I can get an appointment? Obviously without Internet it is very difficult for me to trawl the web to find a phone number!! I'm surviving on 1 bar of 4Gto write this post and it's not fast!!

Thanks

Nick

Re: WiFi but no Internet (or phone)

Thank you for your responses, I've been away for a couple of days hence my apparent lack of interest.

As has happened on countless occasions my WiFi returned. Sometimes it takes an hour sometimes a day or more.

As I said in my first post, I don't blame Sky, I am convinced this would happen with any provider that uses Openreach hardware. I'm thinking my next ISP will be some sort of mobile signal converter but that's pretty poor here as well.

i will re-open this thread the next time this occurs - it won't be long!!
